GREENSBORO, NC (May 4, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened just after midnight on South Holden Road.
GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to a single vehicle crash at approximately 12:04 a.m. today in the area of South Holden Road just north of the Interstate 40 overpass.
Luis Tomas Ventura-Chocoy, 31, of Greensboro, was driving a Kia SUV north on South Holden Road when he lost control of the vehicle and ultimately collided with a tree in the center median.
Mr. Ventura-Chocoy died from his injuries at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.
The Greensboro Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit responded and is conducting this ongoing investigation.
