User-facing features in this release:

Deep Dive

We are excited to announce the general release of Deep Dive! Powered by generative AI, Deep Dive analyzes your documents to generate evidence-backed responses to natural language questions. Deep Dive goes beyond traditional search; it delivers meaningful insights about your data starting from your very first question.

Now that Deep Dive is generally available, any client or managed service provider with an Everlaw AI contract can use Deep Dive.

From fact finding to final arguments, find instant insights across millions of documents. Use Deep Dive to:

  • Get a head start on setting case strategy at the outset of a matter
  • Identify key issues and entities within a massive document set
  • Get quick clarity on nuanced questions that otherwise require time-intensive document review

Fact management

Storybuilder, Everlaw's narrative building toolkit, now includes Fact Management. Fact Management is a new suite of tools that enables you to identify and track key events and information as you discover them, and support each Fact with documentary and testimony evidence as appropriate. Use Fact Management to construct a case chronology out of discrete facts organized into one or more timelines.

Learn more in our Fact Timelines article.

Deep Dive for transcripts

Storybuilder now includes Deep Dive for transcripts. Deep Dive for transcripts is a generative AI question-and-answer tool for you to get insights from across all of your deposition transcripts. The underlying technology is similar to our newly available Deep Dive, but is optimized to answer questions about your transcripts instead of your documents. Deep Dive for transcripts is included and available at no cost for organizations that have enabled Everlaw AI.

When you ask a question using Deep Dive for transcripts, you get a citation-backed response that shows how deponents testified on that issue. The response goes beyond keyword searches to identify quotes that relate to the topic and themes of your question, and knits them together to give a response that advances your understanding of the case.

Redaction sets for documents and productions

Projects now offer the flexibility to group redactions into redaction sets and to choose which of those redaction sets will be included in a production. Project Admins are responsible for creating these sets. They are then applied during the document review phase and selected for application in the production process.

This improvement allows documents to be produced to different recipients with varying content withheld, eliminating the need to duplicate effort or repeatedly delete and recreate redactions for distinct productions.

Redaction sets are only available if enabled by a Project Admin, as they are only beneficial to some organizations' workflows.

Workday people directory integration for legal holds

Everlaw's legal holds tool now includes a Workday people directory integration for syncing employee data to Everlaw. This feature allows you to create an organization-wide Everlaw legal hold directory that updates whenever it receives custodian data from your Workday directory.

Directories integrated with Workday will automatically sync updates at the cadence that has been set by the user on the Workday platform. This means that as long as the regular cadence established by the admin is frequent (i.e. daily or weekly), changes made in Workday to custodian data will almost always be synced correctly.

This is particularly useful for organizations with a large and frequently changing pool of employees, as the configured synchronization eliminates the need for manual data entry and maintenance of custodian information in Everlaw. This saves significant time, reduces administrative burden, and minimizes the risk of human error associated with updating multiple systems.

Edit extracted values and other Extractions improvements

Extractions use generative AI to identify and isolate specific information in your documents, such as dates, locations, and people. With this release, you can edit values, delete values, and add new values, which allows you to make sure that all the values for a given extraction field are accurate and complete before export.

In addition to the ability to edit values, there are more improvements to Extractions:

  • Navigate hit highlights from the Review Assistant panel: Previously, activating Hit Highlights for extractions created new highlights in the Hit Highlight tab. Now, you activate and navigate the hit highlights, including redacting them, from within the Review Assistant panel.
  • Edit field configurations from the Review Assistant panel: You can now edit the title and description of extraction fields from within the document review window. Previously you could only do this from a results table or in Project Settings.
  • Delete extractions for specific fields: Each field with extractions now has its own option to delete responses (extracted values). Prior to this release, there was only an option to delete responses for all generated fields.

Learn more in our Work with Extractions in the Document Review Window article.

User session remains live while viewing long media file

You will now stay signed in while reviewing long audio or video files; playback automatically keeps your session active so you won't be logged out mid-review. This is helpful when reviewing depositions or recordings that exceed 30 minutes (15 minutes for GovCloud) without otherwise interacting with the platform.

Incorporate AI credits into the API

Everlaw AI billing credits are now included in Everlaw's external API so your team can integrate this data into their accounting systems and dashboards.

Assign user groups to Assignment Groups

Assignment Group creators and editors can now allocate review work assignments and grant Self-Assign permissions to user groups, removing the requirement to select individual users for initial work distribution. This new option allows for faster allocation of documents to large teams. The existing options to select individual users remain available.

Choose metadata sheet position in PDF export

You can now choose the position of the metadata sheet, if included, when you export PDFs. This gives you more control over the format of your exports.

Learn more in our Export Documents article.

Word count in Storybuilder Drafts and Depositions

Word count is now tracked in each Storybuilder Draft, Deposition Body and Deposition Summary.

Change to work product CSV export headers to reduce errors

We updated the work product export CSV to reduce reimport errors. The following changes were made:

  • The Bates/Control # header is now called Bates/Control Number
  • The End Bates/Control # header is now called End Bates/Control Number

Review window edit layout options moved

The review window's edit layout options have been moved to the top of the page, directly under the view tabs (e.g. PDF, Text, Native), and have been slightly rearranged. This was done to improve discovery and usability of the feature.

Allow for filter in Topics

Users can now filter the result table's Topics column by sentiment. This allows you to quickly find documents with a given sentiment within a large document set, directly from the results table.

Prevent sleeping during native upload

Your computer screen will now stay awake during native uploads if you keep the browser window tab with the upload running open and visible. This prevents potential sleep-related interruptions to the upload.

Refresh all searches in a folder in one click

With this release, you can refresh all the searches in a folder at once. This allows you to see the latest results counts for all the searches in a folder without having to separately update each one from its results table.

Saved legal hold confirmation recipient list

When you send out a new or updated legal hold notice, the Confirmation recipients list of the confirmation email (previously called the summary email) now automatically saves for later confirmation emails within the same legal hold notice.

Legal Hold > Directories page update

With the addition of the Workday integration in this release, we are removing the term "dynamic" from our legal hold terminology, instead labeling directory types as either static or by their integration type: Microsoft Entra ID or Workday.

As a result, the Legal Hold > Directories page is no longer broken into two separate sections titled Dynamic and Static. Instead, all directory types - static, Microsoft Entra ID, and Workday (new) - are included in a single list and individually marked with their directory type.

Additionally, integrated directories now display when they were most recently synced, rather than just displaying a Connected flag.
