Every Story Counts is a statewide initiative designed to collect data, stories, and photos that show how and why Californians use their local public libraries. Coordinated by the California State Library, this effort helps ensure that library users' voices are reflected in statewide data, and Santa Barbara Public Library is excited to participate.
From January 25-31, 2026, Californians are invited to complete a short survey sharing how their library supports them. Your participation will help Santa Barbara Public Library contribute to a more comprehensive statewide picture of how libraries are used and valued.
Public libraries across California provide essential services, trusted information, and welcoming spaces for all communities. The state is home to 188 library jurisdictions, made up of 1,127 individual local libraries, all working to meet the unique needs of their residents.
Please take a moment to complete the survey below and make your voice heard.
