From Vacant Lots to Homeownership: MBCDC Celebrates Completion of Seven Townhomes in Martindale Brightwood

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - In Martindale-Brightwood, where fewer than 40% of households own their homes, seven new townhomes on Ralston Avenue will create opportunities for income qualified buyers to put down roots as homeowners. On Wednesday, September 30, the Martindale-Brightwood Community Development Corporation (MBCDC) will celebrate the completion of the first phase of Ralston Hills Townhomes and share its vision for the surrounding blocks.

Four long-vacant parcels have become six three-bedroom homes and one accessible two-bedroom home, expanding homeownership opportunities in the Martindale-Brightwood. MBCDC and Stenz Construction led the development, supported by American Rescue Plan Act funding and the City of Indianapolis' Vacant to Vibrant land bank. At the ribbon-cutting, residents and partners will speak about what these homes mean for Martindale Brightwood and MBCDC's longer-term plans for additional housing and infrastructure along the block. Media will have an opportunity to tour the completed homes.
