Marquette Business has named Alexandra Hottinger as the director of the Commercial Banking Program, succeeding Dr. Kent Belasco, founder and director of the program, who retired in May.
Hottinger will oversee continued funding for the program and support current and prospective student recruitment. Additionally, Hottinger will foster relationships with the program's board of advisors who represent local and national banks, increasing student exposure to internship and career opportunities with industry partners.
"The Commercial Banking Program at Marquette is all about supporting students, fostering industry connections and strengthening the economy. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this role," Hottinger said. "Our purpose is to stimulate interest in this exceptional career path, ultimately increasing preparation and accessibility for students to successfully pursue careers in the industry."
Before joining Marquette Business, Hottinger worked with FIS Global for nine years, most recently serving as a senior management consultant. Prior, she gained experience in multiple commercial banking roles, including portfolio and relationship management at BMO Bank.
"Alex brings impactful industry experience to the program," said Andrew DeGuire, dean of the College of Business Administration. "I look forward to seeing her energy, expertise and connections propel the program and attract more students to an integral industry with ample career opportunities."
Hottinger earned a degree in biochemistry from Lakeland University and later obtained her MBA in 2007.
Outside of work, Hottinger serves as the choreography director for Cedarburg Pom and Dance, a nonprofit program in Cedarburg, Wisconsin that serves as a prep program for local dance teams.
