Prepare for Daylight Savings Time
A Stranger Arrives in Westmarch
Majestic Depths Phantom Market
Season 3 of Challenge Rift Racer
Server time falls back one hour for the North America, Europe, and Oceania regions at the time of the next server maintenance rollout for Patch 5.1.4.
The in-game announcement tool will display this information seven days prior to the change. We'll also send out a message to your mailbox a week ahead of the scheduled time change, so fear not if you forget until then.
Cloaked in mystery (and a literal cloak), a stranger has arrived in Westmarch, muttering of ridiculous secrets and utter madness. An earthy smell wafts behind them wherever they tread. He whispers nonsense of disturbances in the rift, of bizarre invaders in the dark dungeons of the world, of strangely dressed hoarders of secret treasures wandering the wilds, and of a crown taken by an "unworthy tyrant".
Clearly, this mysterious stranger cannot be trusted. Reports say that he's been seen in the streets, squares, and alcoves of the city. Avoid him at all costs and ignore his lunacy.
The world below swallows as much brilliance as it can, and so its dwellers take naught for granted, unlike those huddled on the well-lit surface above.
From November 4-December 2, wreathe yourself in aquatic opulence with the Majestic Depths Phantom Market. Take part in the prize draw for a chance to obtain the Lord of the Raging Tides, a new legendary cosmetic inspired by the dark depths of the sea.
You're guaranteed to receive the cross-class weapon Final Feast Cantor within your first three draws.
From November 11-December 16, play through Elder Rift for a 50% drop rate to get either the Haunt Coil or Leviathan Tomb Legendary Gem.
From November 4-November 8, Rift Racer returns with updates to make the challenge easier to dive into, and more competitive across a wider range of players. Take on the challenge solo, compete for the fastest clear times, and earn valuable rewards.
Five difficulties are available this season. Players can choose a difficulty appropriate for their Combat Rating.
Leaderboards are now separated by class, so you'll compete for the fastest times against other players of the same class. If you make it to the top of some cross-server class leaderboards, you can earn limited-time exclusive Titles, materials, Set and Legendary items, currency, and more.
Special mechanics are introduced at higher difficulties, dialing the intensity and skill needed as you progress.
The cross-server leaderboard rewards have been expanded to 12 tiers. The top 50% of participating players will receive rewards. Additionally, the top-ranked player for each class will also receive the Rift Racer Champion Title, which lasts for 90 days.
Rewards will be distributed on November 9 during daily reset at 3:00 a.m. server time. Earn experience, currency, materials, items, along with additional bonuses available during the first few clears.
See the Rift Racer event page in-game for full details.
Pass the Chair
From November 11-December 9, complete tasks to earn Expedition Tokens. Reach token Milestones to claim rewards, such as Telluric Pearls, 1-Star Legendary Gems, and Set Items of choice.
New tasks become available every Wednesday at 3:00 a.m., keep an eye out to earn more Tokens and rise through the ranks.
Milestone rewards and task rewards must be claimed manually. All tasks and reward progress reset when a new Pass the Chair event begins.
War Games Updates
We've added several new custom settings to War Games called Character Settings. Within the new Character Settings, the lobby host will be given the option to enable or disable some combat systems and even set upper limits for some stats. These settings will apply to all characters within the match, allowing you to create unique rules for your own War Games.
Character Settings include:
Note that these changes are temporary, so we can help evaluate their performance before deciding whether to make them permanent. These settings will be available from Nov 4, 2026, to Feb 17, 2027.
Battleground Matchmaking and Skill Rating ImprovementsWe've made several adjustments to the Battleground matchmaking rating (MMR) system to improve how your skill is evaluated, and to support more balanced matches over time.
These changes are intended to provide a more accurate foundation for matchmaking, particularly as skill ratings become more established throughout each season.
These improvements are being made in two key areas.
1. More Accurate Skill Evaluation: Refining how matchmaking ratings are calculated to better reflect your competitive performance and reduce unintended rating inflation.
2. Improved Rating Consistency Adjusting how ratings are updated following wins and losses, allowing the system to more consistency distinguish between players of different skill levels as the season progresses.
These changes are intended to provide a more accurate foundation for matchmaking, particularly as your skill ratings become more established throughout each season.
We do recognize that matchmaking quality depends on factors such as regional player populations, queue times, and player availability. We'll continue monitoring match balance and matchmaking performance across different regions and time periods to identify further opportunities for improvement.
Clearer Class Identity with Collaboration Avatars
To help improve class readability and identification, we're adding class icons next to your avatars in screens such as the Leaderboards, Party Finder, PvP, and more.
This should help you quickly identify player classes when queuing for activities, especially when they're using avatars that don't belong to a specific class.
Auxiliary Gem Updates
Auxiliary Gems can now be active above Rank 1 but each gem's quality determines the maximum Rank it can be. With these changes, we aim to smooth the transition from older gems to newer gems. This also helps preserve one's previous investments while also maintaining the value of higher quality Legendary Gems.
The maximum Rank of an Auxiliary Gem cannot exceed the socketed Primary Gems Rank.
Developer's Note: Auxiliary Gems still do not contribute Gem Power to empowering the socketed Legendary Gem like Resonance Gems do.
Spectral Allies for Difficulty 1-3 for Vanguard
In difficulty 1-3 of Vanguard, we've added a button so that you can add Spectral Allies to your party manually. This change does not apply to difficulty level 4 of Vanguard; you'll still need a full party.
