We're delighted to announce that starting with Opinion Audio as a senior news assistant is Emma Kehlbeck . She will be supporting the Opinion Audio team with its growing operations and audience needs. Emma first joined The Times in 2020 as part of the Audm acquisition. She has spent the last five and a half years producing narrated audio content for The New York Times Magazine and other publications, as well as working on the NYT Audio app. Emma grew up in Michigan and went to the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied political science.
And in the world of columnist assistants, Taylor Plett is joining Opinion to work with Bret Stephens and David French. Before coming to The Times, Taylor wrote and fact-checked stories for GQ and Smithsonian magazine. Previously, she designed film impact campaigns at Neon. She studied social science at the University of Oxford and English at Duke University, where she was an Angier B. Duke scholar. Taylor hails from Southern California and loves food, rock climbing and taking the train upstate. She is also based in New York, and her first day is today.
