Schepisi to Host Property Tax Relief Event for Bergen County Seniors

Holly Schepisi Posted on August 28, 2026

While New Jerseyans continue to face the highest property taxes in the nation, Senator Holly Schepisi, Assemblyman Robert Auth, and Assemblyman John V. Azzariti Jr. (all R-Bergen) are hosting a free event on Wednesday, September 2 to help Bergen County seniors apply for critical property tax relief.

Representatives from the New Jersey Division of Taxation will be on-site at the Montvale Senior Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide one-on-one assistance to seniors, help them complete their forms, answer questions, and explain available property tax relief programs.

"New Jersey's crushing property taxes are making it increasingly difficult for seniors to afford to remain in the homes they have worked a lifetime to own," said Senator Schepisi. "I'm hosting this event to connect my constituents directly with the resources available to them and help ensure they receive every dollar of property tax relief for which they are eligible."

Bergen County seniors are encouraged to stop by to learn more about the state's tax relief programs and to receive assistance directly from Division of Taxation representatives.
