As neighborhoods across Knoxville get set to celebrate National Night Out, City leaders are gearing up for their second annual city-wide National Night Out Kickoff Celebration.
The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, 5-7 p.m. at Tank Strickland Park, 4618 Asheville Hwy.
The event is designed to bring people together in one location, with free food, games and giveaways in an all-ages, party-like atmosphere.
This year's kickoff celebration is being planned in coordination with multiple neighborhoods associations in East Knoxville:
o Burlington Residents Association
o Cold Springs Neighborhood Watch
o Michael Meadowview Neighborhood Watch
o Parkridge Community Organization
o Town Hall East
The celebration is an opportunity for families to interact with City police officers and firefighters, explore fire trucks and police vehicles, meet the City's Mounted Patrol, and enjoy games and activities provided through Parks and Recreation's KORE program.
The celebration will start at 5 p.m., allowing community members to take part in the kickoff, and (if they choose) to plan their own neighborhood event later that evening.
"Not every neighborhood is able to plan their own celebration," said Mayor Indya Kincannon. "But the Kickoff Celebration is designed for anyone in the city to attend. It's a great way to meet our neighbors, police officers and firefighters.
"The City is excited to sponsor this annual event," the Mayor said, adding, "I hope to see many of you out there!"
