Live Cattle futures moved higher on strong demand

Livestock markets trended higher as strong demand and tight supplies supported price action across the sector. Live Cattle futures advanced following a neutral U.S.D.A. report, with prices remaining near the upper end of a three week range. Feeder Cattle futures continued to climb as packers paid higher prices amid constrained supply levels. Lean Hog futures reached new highs as the prevailing uptrend maintained momentum with significant support from traders. Commitment of Traders data indicated that funds added over 13,000 contracts to long positions, bringing the total to more than 90,000 contracts. Market participation remained elevated as traders monitored volatility across the livestock complex.
