Georgi Sava Rakovski Bolhrad High School is a cultural bridge between our nations. The protocol that we signed today is extremely important and gives a chance to Bulgarian children who belong to the largest historical community outside Bulgaria to continue to receive training in their own language. This was stated by Prime Minister Andrey Gurov at a joint briefing with Ukraine's Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. The two Prime Ministers had a meeting in Kyiv and after the meeting, they attended the ceremony at which the two countries' Ministers of Education - Sergei Ignatov and Oksen Lisovyi - signed a protocol about the Bolhrad High School in Odesa Oblast. Prime Minister Andrey Gurov recalled that this is the oldest high school from the time of the Bulgarian National Revival where some of the most prominent Bulgarians studied, including the first rector of the University of Sofia. We stand ready to work in the future as until now so as to promote the cooperation, Bulgaria's Prime Minister said with regard to bilateral partnership in the field of culture and education.

Prime Minister Andrey Gurov reiterated Bulgaria's firm and consistent support for Ukraine and its struggle for independence and territorial integrity. It was very important today that we move from support to concrete action: we discussed many subjects and issues in various sectors of the economy that would benefit Bulgarian citizens and Ukrainian companies which can cooperate, Andrey Gurov pointed out. Possible areas for deeper interaction between Bulgaria and Ukraine, as indicated by the Prime Minister, were the economy, energy, defense industry, innovation, transport and connectivity.

For her part, Ukraine's Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized that this visit of Prime Minister Andrey Gurov and some of the ministers who are members of the caretaker cabinet is a confirmation that Bulgaria and Ukraine are partners allied by shared values and historical ties and by their pursuit of peace and sustainable development in the Black Sea region. Yuliia Svyrydenko expressed her confidence that the current bilateral talks would be a solid foundation for the further development of cooperation between Sofia and Kyiv. Ukraine's Prime Minister reasserted the great importance of the protocol signed today about the Bolhrad High School. Also, she emphasized the transport connectivity in the region. It is in our interest to attract Bulgaria and Bulgarian companies to projects to rebuild Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko pointed out.

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for the solidarity and sympathy with Ukraine that continue even in the fifth year of the armed aggression against the country. We appreciate the military technical and energy assistance provided, the support for our citizens who were compelled to leave the country as well as the initiatives to support Ukrainian children, Ukraine's Prime Minister stressed.
