Transcript:

This is your USD News Minute.

USD was selected as one of 237 U.S. colleges and universities to receive the 2026 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, an elective designation awarded by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching that highlights an institution's commitment to community engagement. This year marks the 20th year USD has received this classification. USD was also selected to serve as the administrative and operational host for the Community Engagement Classification for the next two three-year cycles - an honor that validates USD as a leader in community engagement work.

And a few events to save the date for: The 33rd annual All Faith Service is Thursday, February 12 at 12:15 p.m. in the KIPJ Theatre. Join students, religious leaders, faculty, and staff in prayer and experience how different faith traditions empower us to practice the wisdom of solidarity.

And Men's and Women's Basketball have games coming up to raise awareness for cancer and to support survivors - something that hits close to home for both head coaches and many players. The Men's Basketball game will take place Saturday, January 31, and Women's Basketball on Saturday, February 7, in the JCP.

As always, thank you for watching and we'll see you next week.
