Join San Rafael’s Park & Recreation Commission

The City of San Rafael is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Park & Recreation Commission. One seat is currently open on the commission.

The Park & Recreation Commission works with the City Council on the long-range planning and development of San Rafael's parks and recreation facilities. Commissioners also monitor community needs and current service levels, review partnerships with community groups, and advise the City on policies related to parks, recreation, child care, and cultural services.

Serving on the commission provides residents with an opportunity to share their perspectives on the programs, facilities, and services that support recreation and community life in San Rafael. No prior experience serving on a City commission is required.

The commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the San Rafael Community Center, located at 618 B Street. Interpretation is available upon request for those who submit a request at least 72 hours before a meeting.
