EAGC Uganda Agribusiness Expo 2026 Concludes at Busitema University

The EAGC Agribusiness Expo 2026 concluded on Saturday at Busitema University, Arapai Campus, bringing together farmers, agribusinesses, researchers, technology providers, insurers and other stakeholders around a shared goal: making agriculture more productive, resilient and profitable.

Over the two days, farmers explored modern agricultural technologies, improved crop varieties, irrigation solutions, machinery, livestock innovations, post-harvest solutions and agricultural insurance. Soroti City Resident City Commissioner John Michael Okurut encouraged farmers to embrace modern technologies and use opportunities such as the Expo to strengthen production and reduce reliance on rain-fed agriculture.

Farmers also shared their experiences and highlighted the value of accessing new technologies, improved practices and connections to potential customers and partners. The Insurance Regulatory Authority used the Expo to sensitise farmers on agricultural insurance and their rights as policyholders.

The Expo also strengthened the connection between research, education and farming communities, with Busitema University showcasing its agricultural programmes, innovations and community outreach.

For EAGC, the Expo was ultimately about connecting farmers to practical technologies, knowledge, services and market opportunities that can help build more resilient and profitable agricultural enterprises.

With the Expo now concluded, its impact will be seen in what participants take forward-the technologies adopted, practices improved, partnerships formed and businesses strengthened.
