TAMPA, FL. (September 15, 2026) - The Tampa Police Department arrested a 15-year-old student that was found with a loaded gun at school.

On September 15, 2026, the School Resource Officer at Robinson High School was notified of a tip that a student was in possession of a weapon on campus. During an administrative search, the SRO recovered a handgun from Thor Mangas(W/M DOB: 5-9-2011).

Mangas who did not make any threats towards the school, staff, or other students, was arrested without incident at 12:06pm.

"The safety of our schools is always our highest priority," said Acting Chief Brett Owen. "We thank the individual who came forward with the tip and the quick action of our School Resource Officer. There is zero tolerance for bringing a weapon to school and we will continue to take every report seriously to ensure the safety or our students and staff.

Mangas is charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Property and Minor in Possession of a Firearm. A booking photo was not available at the time of release.
