The University of Cincinnati Foundation has appointed five distinguished alumni to serve as trustees. Scott DeVenny, Bus '92; Brian Driscoll, CECH '92; Tim Fogarty, Bus '80; Susan Opas, Nur '71, PhD and Christie Wolf, Bus '91 will begin their service in October 2025.

"Our volunteer leaders play an important role in our philanthropic work," said Rich Bundy, UC Foundation president. "These lifelong Bearcats bring experience, leadership and a dedication to the university community that benefits UC and UC Health.

"I'm looking forward to partnering with my fellow Bearcats," said Leigh Fox, MBA '01, UC Foundation board chair. "It's heartening when alumni return as volunteers with a desire to impact future generations."

Meet the trustees:

Scott DeVenny, Bus '92
DeVenny has over 30 years of experience in leadership roles. He is the partner in charge of the Cincinnati office at Grant Thornton where he leads a team of audit, tax and advisory professionals. He is a former member of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business Accounting Department Advisory Board and has recruited UC accounting students for more than three decades. DeVenny says he treasures the lifelong friendships he made at UC, and if he had to choose a college again, it would be UC.

What impact do you hope to bring to the UC Foundation? I have worked my entire career in Cincinnati, and UC provided me with the building blocks to succeed. Now is my time to give back to the university. \I hope to apply some of what I have learned over my career to my role as a UC Foundation Trustee.

Brian Driscoll, CECH '92
Driscoll has more than 25 years of experience in the development, sales and marketing of medical devices. He is currently the president of Aveera Medical in San Clemente, California. During his time at UC, he forged his favorite memories and connections with his athletic training classmates and staff on the field and in the training room. He is a member of the Alumni Association, C-Club and UCATS. When given the opportunity, he enjoys meeting with undergraduate students in athletic training.

What impact do you hope to bring to the UC Foundation? I benefited from a scholarship during my time on campus. Thanks to the generosity of the James and Pat Ellis Student Athletic Trainer Scholarship Fund, the financial burden of my college tuition was minimized. Without this support and other mentors, I found at UC, I wouldn't be where I am today. It's my turn to "pay it forward" and help the next generation of UC students have the financial and academic support to be successful in their careers.

Tim Fogarty, Bus '80
Fogarty is the former CEO of West Chester Holdings Inc., an industrial and retail supplier of hand protection gloves, protective clothing and rainwear. He has served on the Carl H. Lindner College of Business Advisory Council, the Lindner Executive Cabinet and is a member of the College of Business Alumni Network. A longtime supporter of the UC Athletics and the College of Business, he is a past recipient of the Outstanding Business Achievement Award. Fogarty's favorite UC memory is Friday afternoons on the Bridge.

What impact do you hope to bring to the UC Foundation? UC is one of the most important entities in our region. I hope to give whatever assistance I can to provide UC with the resources necessary to expand its positive impact well into the future.

Susan Opas, Nur '71, PhD
Opas served as a licensed RN for 50 years, prior to retiring. Her last role was as a nationally certified development behavioral pediatric nurse practitioner at Kaiser Permanente. Opas is an advocate for the UC College of Nursing, chairing its Dean's Advisory Board and creating two scholarships for nursing students. She has been recognized for her dedication to the college with its Distinguished Alumni Award. Opas' favorite memory as a nursing student is being a part of moving patients into the "new" main university hospital in 1969.

What impact do you hope to bring to the UC Foundation? I believe in the absolute need for alumni to give back. As a trustee, I will be able to increase my knowledge of the university, its colleges, students and needs. This will assist me in alumni outreach.

Christie Wolf, Bus '91
Wolf is a long-time supporter of UC Athletics and her alma mater. Her roles include serving on various committees for the UC Alumni Association, UC Athletics and Homecoming committees. Wolf honored her late husband and fellow Bearcat, Greg Wolf, Bus '92, by creating the Gregory C. Wolf Memorial Fund supporting UC football. Along with Bearcat friends and family, she raises money for the fund each year through the Greg Wolf Memorial Golf Tournament. Greg was the former vice chair of the UC Foundation Board of Trustees. Wolf's favorite UC memory is meeting Greg when he was working at a booth at the Sigma Sigma Carnival. She won the grand prize, a T-shirt, but says meeting her husband was the biggest prize.

What impact do you hope to bring to the UC Foundation? I want to inspire others to give to UC and make a difference in our community and future Bearcats.
