2025-26 Room of the Year contest results
Residence Life is proud to announce the top three winners of the 2025-26 Room of the Year contest! The contest was open to any student living on Anchorage campus. Contestants had the opportunity to submit photos of their room along with a short narrative describing how their space fit the following criteria:
- The uniqueness of the decorations, theme and style of the space
- How the contestant utilizes their space and maximizes its potential
- The cleanliness and organization of the space
- How the space demonstrates pride in UAA and/or the State of Alaska
- The space is comfortable, calming/inspiring and has a home-like atmosphere
A panel of three judges identified the top five finalists. The judges then had the opportunity to visit these rooms in person along with a professional photographer. Based on the site visit, a first, second and third place winner were identified. Residence Life congratulates the three winning students on their amazing spaces: Kolbie McKelvey, Anya Pawuk and Kaitlyn Liebig.
