Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Notable Trends

  • Five aggravated assaults reported this week with two still open investigations and arrests in the other three. In one arrest, the suspect pushed an employee asking her to leave a business, causing them to fall and break their leg. In another, the suspect hit an officer while resisting arrest. In the last case, the suspect threatened to kill the victim, pressed on victim's throat with his arm while sitting on her to pin her down.
  • One rape reported that is an open investigation. The victim did not know the suspect.
  • Officers arrested suspects in both robberies reported this week. In one, the suspect hit an employee who was trying to stop her from shoplifting. In the other arrest, the suspect threatened to beat the victim up if they didn't take money out of the ATM and give it to him.
  • Three residential burglaries reported. In one, the suspect entered a secure shed and stole a riding lawn mower, landscaping tools, hand tools and two gas cans. In one case, the suspect tried to push his way into a neighbor's house. He was later located and arrested. In the last case, personal documents were stolen from the victim's closet. There were no obvious signs of forced entry.
  • Ten vehicle prowls or vandalisms reported. A purse, wallet, laptop, bags, cell phone and tools were some of the things stolen. Four cars were unsecured, three had windows shattered and three were unknown entry.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 1,097 calls for service this week.
  • Our business office is closed this Monday, May 25, in honor of Memorial Day. If you're looking for an event to honor fallen soldiers, there is a Memorial Day Ceremony on the Capitol Campus at the rotunda of the Legislative building from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Have a safe holiday.
  • In this week's photo, OPD and OFD participated in Day of Champions with Olympia and Capital High Schools, a special field day for their Life Skills students.
