City Manager Shawn Sherrouse Officially Appoints Adam Lunn as Director of Lakeland International Airport

Lakeland City Manager Shawn Sherrouse is pleased to announce the official appointment of Adam Lunn, C.M., ACE, as the new Director of Lakeland International Airport (LAL). Lunn, who has led the airport in an interim capacity since June 14, 2026, began his aviation career as an intern at LAL more than 15 years ago.

"Following a successful period of interim leadership, I am thrilled to officially appoint Mr. Lunn as the new Airport Director," said City Manager Shawn Sherrouse. "He has proven his capability at every level of operations. I am confident that he will continue to provide exceptional leadership, vision, and professionalism."

Since joining the LAL team full-time in 2011, Lunn has served in several vital roles, supporting the airport's rapid infrastructure growth while building strong relationships across the organization and the broader aviation community. Prior to assuming interim leadership at LAL, Lunn served as Assistant Airport Director.

"Over the past 15 years, Lunn's expertise and dedication have laid a strong foundation for Lakeland International Airport's continued success," said City Manager Shawn Sherrouse. "His knowledge and expertise in operational and financial management are exactly what is needed to secure a promising future at the airport. I am confident that his strategic vision will elevate airport operations, creating new economic opportunities and guiding the LAL team toward success in the coming years."

Known for his collaborative leadership style and deep commitment to the airport's economic development mission, Lunn expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the airport as director.

"I'm both humbled and honored to continue serving this community as Airport Director. It's been an incredible 15 years since I first joined the team, and I'm thankful I can continue to work alongside our talented team, tenants, and community partners in this new role. I also want to thank city leadership for believing in me and selecting me for this opportunity," Lunn said. "Lakeland International's future remains bright as our community continues to embrace the many opportunities now available in travel, employment, and higher education. I look forward to building on this momentum with our team, addressing new and emerging trends in aviation technology and the demand for additional air travel options in Central Florida."

Lunn brings an impressive combination of experience, education, and industry credentials to the director position. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Florida Southern College and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives, an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Operations, and holds both FAA Private Pilot and Remote Pilot certificates.
