Today marks the sixteenth anniversary of the murder of Adolfo Ignacio Celedon Bravo, known to his family as "Fito." A native of Chile, Celedon moved to Berkeley to be with his fiancée. Tragically, his life was taken on his 35th birthday.

On the morning of September 12, 2010, at approximately 3:41 a.m., Celedon was walking home with his fiancée after attending a party. As they approached the intersection of Adeline and Emerson Streets, they were confronted by two male suspects intent on robbing them. During the robbery, Celedon was shot, and his fiancée was punched in the face. The suspects then fled in what was described as a dark, older-model SUV.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Celedon's murder.

Detectives remain hopeful that a member of the community will come forward with information. Even the smallest detail could prove critical to solving this case.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Berkeley Police Department Investigations Division-Homicide Detail at (510) 981-5741 or the 24-hour BPD Non-Emergency line at (510) 981-5900.
