Remains Found in 1991 Identified

Unidentified remains found in 1991 have been identified as those of Philip Daniel Sydnor, who would have been 40 at the time of the discovery.

On January 14, 1991, a resident in the 2800 block of Barksdale Lane reported that their dog had returned home with a human skull in its mouth. No other remains were located. In January of 2023, the remains were sent to Othram lab for genome sequencing and forensic genetic genealogy (FGG) where identification was made. Sydnor was known to be transient. The cause and manner of death are undetermined.
