Jena, Germany and London, UK - 6 May 2026 - Linimed Gruppe ("Linimed" or "the Company"), a leading provider of community intensive care services, today announced it has secured capital from funds managed by Ares Management ("Ares") to support its growth strategy in intensive community care and rehabilitation therapy services.
GHO Capital ("GHO"), a European specialist healthcare investor and Linimed's majority shareholder since 2018, has strengthened Linimed's capital structure by bringing in Ares as a new financing partner, alongside existing lenders BlackRock and Berenberg. This strategic investment provides Linimed with additional capital to continue executing its consolidation strategy and expand its regional footprint in community care services while entering the adjacent rehabilitation therapy market.
The Company is positioned to continue delivering on its track record of growth with the new capital, having expanded operations from serving approximately 300 patients in 2018 to over 1,500 patients in 2025. This five-fold increase reflects the continued partnership between Linimed's management team and GHO, alongside organic growth and strategic acquisitions following GHO's initial investment.
Demonstrating further strategic momentum, Linimed has completed the acquisition of GeBomed GmbH, an ambulatory outpatient nursing service based in the Lower Rhine region of Germany. The acquisition is Linimed's 12th add-on transaction since partnering with GHO and marks another milestone in the Company's successful growth strategy of enhancing care capacity across Germany. Linimed plans to leverage its operational expertise to broaden GeBomed's service offering into intensive care, while using GeBomed's local experience and management team to further expand patients' access to its care services in a currently underserved region.
Fabian Bäuerle, CEO of Linimed, said: "Partnering with Ares marks an important milestone in Linimed's evolution and provides us with the capital to accelerate our strategic expansion plans, building on our successful ongoing partnership with GHO. Our growth strategy focuses on strengthening our geographic footprint in community care while simultaneously developing our rehabilitation therapy capabilities. Recent strategic moves, including the GeBomed acquisition, support this vision as we continue to expand our reach. With strong market fundamentals supporting demand for high-quality intensive community care services, we are well-positioned to continue our growth trajectory and provide more patients access to our state-of-the-art facilities."
Ken Eichmann and Mike Turner, Partners at GHO Capital, commented: "Since partnering with Linimed, we have seen the team consistently demonstrate what is possible when genuine patient-centred care meets operational excellence. The five-fold growth in patients served is a reflection of that, and we believe this is just the beginning. Bringing in Ares as a financing partner strengthens our ability to support the Company's next phase of growth - deepening its community care footprint and building out rehabilitation therapy services as a natural and compelling extension of its model. The German community intensive care market continues to offer significant structural opportunity, and we remain committed to backing Linimed as it captures that potential."
James Kim, Partner at Ares, added: "We are pleased to provide flexible capital to support Linimed, a high-quality business operating a differentiated care model with a strong management team and a well-defined growth strategy in a compelling sector. Partnering alongside GHO, a specialist healthcare investor with deep sector expertise, enables us to back Linimed's strategic ambitions. The ageing German population and the continued shift toward community-based care create durable, long-term demand, and Linimed is well positioned to meet it. We look forward to working closely with management and GHO in this exciting new chapter of organic and accretive inorganic growth."
As part of its broader strategic vision, Linimed has identified rehabilitation therapy services as an attractive adjacent market opportunity and a natural extension of its existing care model. The expansion aims to provide more comprehensive, integrated services for Linimed's current patient base, while also serving communities within its established locations. Rehabilitation therapy required by Linimed's patients is currently provided by external partners, presenting a sizeable opportunity to internalise services and ultimately enhance continuity of care. Rehabilitation services will benefit from Linimed's established central functions, proven best practices in quality care, recruitment and training, as well as its longstanding relationships with referral partners.
The German community intensive care sector continues to experience strong structural demand drivers, including an aging population and increasing preference for community care over institutional settings. These favorable market conditions, combined with Linimed's proven operational model and strong investor base, position the company to capture significant growth opportunities while maintaining its commitment to exceptional patient outcomes.
Linimed was advised on the transaction by Marlborough Partners.
