On October 30, 2026, Binance published an official update regarding a security incident affecting the platform. According to Binance's announcement, the estimated total impact of the incident is approximately $6.3 billion. Binance stated that it has worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with approximately $3 billion frozen on-chain so far.

Binance confirmed that user funds are safe and that all losses will be covered by the SAFU fund and the company's own funds. The company also stated that no evidence of a wallet private key leak was found. Deposits remain unaffected and continue to operate normally.

Binance indicated that a detailed technical post-mortem will be shared once the investigation is complete. The company has engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
