Defence Minister's meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Romania

On Wednesday, September 23, the Minister of National Defence, Radu Miruță, had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Romania, H.E. Seung-chul Hur, on the occasion of the South Korean diplomat's appointment.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, in the context of the Romanian Armed Forces' procurement programs developed in cooperation with South Korean companies, and the mutual interest in developing partnerships within the defence industry.

The Minister of National Defence highlighted Romania's interest in strengthening its bilateral defence cooperation relationship with major actors in the Indo-Pacific region, such as the Republic of Korea, in line with the strategic objectives promoted by NATO and the EU for the Asian region.

"Romania aims to develop strong, pragmatic, and complex partnerships. We seek concrete cooperative interactions with long-term benefits, including solid prospects for generating productive economic relations at the highest level," the Minister of National Defence stated.

The meeting reconfirmed the very good level of bilateral relations and the potential for an enhanced cooperation, given the shared interest in building a mutually beneficial partnership in support of regional security and the consolidation of defence capabilities.
