USDA Revises Orange Juice Grade Standards

Date
June 26, 2026

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is revising the U.S. Standards for Grades of Orange Juice.

AMS is revising the U.S. Standards for Grades of Orange Juice (U.S. OJ Standards) by revising the limits for Grade B Brix allowances in Pasteurized Orange Juice (POJ) to reference the Food and Drug Administration's Standard of Identity for POJ.

AMS works with industry representatives and others to establish or revise U.S. standards for nearly 240 agricultural products. Standards facilitate commerce by providing a common language for trade and a means of measuring value in the marketing of agricultural products.

The final notice was published in the Federal Register on June 25, 2026. The revised standards can be viewed on the AMS website.

USDA is an equal opportunity provider, employer, and lender.
