Exclusive: Qevlar AI raises $30M to help security operations (Axios)

Qevlar AI, an agentic AI developer for security operations centers, raised $30 million led by Partech and Forgepoint Capital International, co-founder and CEO Ahmed Achchak tells Axios Pro exclusively.

Why it matters: Manually assessing security alerts can be both costly and overwhelming for security teams.

Zoom in: EQT Ventures also joined the round.

How it works: Qevlar AI has developed an autonomous AI SOC platform that expands a security team's capacity, letting agents investigate alerts, identify real threats and figure out patterns.

By the numbers: The Paris-based company has about 300 customers through both direct sales and selling through managed security service providers.

  • Mercedes-Benz and Sodexo are among its customers.
  • Qevlar AI, founded in 2023, has raised $45 million.

What's next: The new cash will be used to double Qevlar AI's head count to about 110 by the end of the year, Achchak says.

  • The company also will expand its presence in the U.S., possibly moving headquarters to New York, says Achchak, who expects to move to the country this summer.

The bottom line: AI agents are popping up as the antidote for overwhelmed SOC teams.
