ICOM Projects 2026

In 2026, the ICOM Special Projects and Solidarity in Times of Crisis project grants have evolved to become a single call for projects proposals, renamed ICOM Projects.

ICOM Projects is an annual call for project proposals to support the ICOM network and advance ICOM's implementation of its Strategic Plan.

ICOM encourages all its National Committees (NCs), International Committees (ICs), Regional Alliances (RAs), and Affiliated Organizations (AOs) to submit their project proposals.

The ICOM Projects 2026 invite the members of our community to showcase their innovative and impactful projects. Through this scheme, ICOM is ready to fund up to 75% of the project total budget, with a maximum grant of 20,000 euros.

To be eligible, among other conditions, projects must secure another confirmed funding source and should be finalized before December 31, 2027, for one-year projects, and before December 31, 2028, for two-year projects.

Through this call for proposals, applicants can request funding for:

• Publications
• Trainings
• Research
• Annual Conferences and publication of proceedings
• Museum assessments, protection and safety
• Sustainable practices in museums
• Other projects

The ICOM Strategic Allocation Review Committee (SAREC) reviews the funding applications submitted by its Committees, Regional Alliances and Affiliated Organizations against ICOM's Strategic Plan, considering a proposal's innovativeness and impact, among other criteria.

Besides offering funding for projects, SAREC also distributes annual subsidies for International Committees and Regional Alliances after evaluating their Annual Reports and opens annual calls for Participation Grants to attend ICOM's Annual Meetings and General Conferences.
