Rep. Imani Barnes to Hold Press Conference on Proposed Legislation Miya’s Law Tomorrow
ATLANTA - State Representative Imani Barnes (D-Tucker) will hold a press conference to discuss her proposed legislation, Miya's Law, TOMORROW, Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Liberty Plaza in Atlanta, Ga.
Miya's Law would prohibit landlords of residential rental properties from entering a dwelling unit without providing tenants at least 24 hours' notice prior to entry for any purpose. This would include, but not be limited to, inspecting the dwelling unit, making necessary or agreed upon repairs or improvements, supplying agreed-upon service or showing the dwelling unit to prospective or actual purchasers, mortgages, tenants, workers or contractors. Rep. Barnes intends to formally introduce the legislation during the 2027 legislative session.
