San Rafael Recreation Launches Monthly Art in the Garden Event

The City of San Rafael's Recreation Division is partnering with the Cedars Mobile Art Division to bring a community art experience to the Lonatese Garden at the San Rafael Community Center.

The Mobile Art in the Garden program invites community members to take part in a hands-on creative session alongside Cedars artists. The Mobile Art Division, a program of Cedars of Marin, expands the organization's studio work by bringing artists into public spaces throughout Marin County.

Through these visits, Cedars artists share their work directly with the community while advancing Cedars of Marin's mission to foster independence, defend dignity, and support individuals in reaching their full potential. The program also aims to increase visibility for artists with developmental disabilities and create opportunities for meaningful community interaction.

By hosting the event in the Lonatese Garden, the City continues to build on its efforts to provide inclusive, accessible programming that connects residents through shared experiences.

Bring your imagination and relax with a small group art activity in the San Rafael Community Center garden. Classes are held on the 3rdThursday of every month from 10:00am-11:30am beginning April 16th.

All ages and all abilities welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Materials provided by Cedars. Classes are free of charge. ADA accessible.
