LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking proposals for a Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO) designed to strengthen communities by addressing local needs and promoting the well-being of children and families.
Through collaborative, community-based efforts, the Children Trust Michigan (CTM) Primary Prevention Program delivers strengths-based, evidence-informed services that help prevent child abuse and neglect by building protective factors and fostering healthier, more resilient families and communities. Primary prevention activities are meant to impact families before allegations of abuse and neglect occur and may include public education activities such as distribution of educational materials and community outreach, parent education and family support programs.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, private and public entities, local health departments, federally recognized tribes or a group of federally recognized Michigan tribes, Urban Indian Health Clinic programs and universities.
The initial grant period is from April 1, 2026, to Sept. 30, 2026. The total amount available is $97,500. All applicants must register for the EGrAMS system and request an application by 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6. Grant applications for the CTM Primary Prevention Program GFO must be submitted electronically via EGrAMS by 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13. Technical support is available until noon that day through the EGrAMS Help Desk.
A pre-application conference will be held to discuss this funding opportunity and provide instruction on using the EGrAMS system. The pre-application conference will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, and will last approximately 90 minutes. The conference can be accessed at https://bit.ly/4qBTQpD.
