Man Detained Pending Trial in July Home Invasion Case

December 31, 2025, Peoria, IL - Adonnis Dent, 35, will remain in custody pending trial after the court granted the State's request for detention. The case stems from a July 2025 home invasion in which Dent is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and stealing her firearm.

A Peoria County Grand Jury indicted Dent for Home Invasion on July 8, 2025, and a warrant for his arrest was issued that same day. Peoria County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Dent on that warrant in Livingston County on December 30.

On July 7, 2025, just before 4 a.m., deputies responded to a reported home invasion in the 300 block of N. Apple Blossom Boulevard in Bellevue. The victim reported she was awakened by Dent attacking her. He struck her multiple times and took her firearm from her nightstand, dragged her out of her bedroom, urinated in a cup, and poured it on her before fleeing. The victim's young child was also present in the home.

The victim's home was equipped with video surveillance, and the entire incident was captured on video.

This investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact the Peoria County Sheriff's Office at 309-697-8515.
