SIIA Expands Membership of the Data Policy Advisory Council

Washington, D.C., May 13, 2026 - Now in its second year, the Data Policy Advisory Council (DPAC) created by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the business of information, has provided an opportunity for SIIA and its members to engage with business, academic, and legal thought leaders to examine issues at the cutting edge of data policy - issues such as data minimization, commercial publishing, AI model development, national security benefits and risks, and agentic AI. These discussions have assisted SIIA in developing specific policy formulations in a way that preserves societal benefits while limiting risks to privacy and security.

"In a rapidly changing information ecosystem, the DPAC has been incredibly helpful in helping SIIA and our members see around corners," said Chris Mohr, President, SIIA. "DPAC members have deep legal and operational expertise around privacy, artificial intelligence, and national security uses of data. We are proud of the unique environment that we've created for our members to engage in dialogue with these distinguished practitioners. The pace of innovation has accelerated dramatically - reshaping how organizations handle the data they have and develop, regulate, and trust AI systems. Today's landscape is far more complex, demanding deeper insights, broader expertise, and more collaboration across sectors to ensure responsible progress. I'm extremely grateful to our existing DPAC members and am pleased to welcome Vivienne Artz, David Hoffman, Samm Sacks, Jennifer Sarvadi, and Lindsey Tonsager."
