Phoenix, Ariz.- The Arizona Corporation Commission is participating in World Investor Week 2025 (WIW2025) - a week-long, global campaign to raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection, and to highlight the various initiatives of securities regulators in these two critical areas. Kicking off on Monday, October 6, 2025, WIW2025 will bring together organizations from over 100 jurisdictions to drive awareness around trending issues which impact investors around the world.
"World Investor Week gives the Commission the opportunity to continue its efforts to provide information to Arizona investors, as vigilant and informed investors are the hardest people to deceive," said Mark Dinell, director of the Commission's Securities Division.
Every day this week, the Securities Division looks forward to providing information to empower Arizona investors so they can actively prevent themselves from being caught up in frauds and scams. Emerging technologies and innovation allow investors an unprecedented array of choices and opportunities to grow wealth and financial security through investing. New and developing technologies like artificial intelligence(AI); digital platforms incorporating social media; mobile trading apps; robo-advisers; and crypto assets can make saving and investing more engaging. At the same time, fraudulent investment schemes are also developing. Fraudsters are sophisticated; they actively exploit investor trends for their own financial gain and lure unsuspecting investors into scams. The ACC urges investors to be attentive in spotting fraud and scams perpetrated by bad actors trying to take advantage of this period of rapid innovation.
Contact the Commission's Securities Division to inquire about the license status and possible disciplinary history of the securities salesperson or investment adviser--even if it's with someone you know and trust.
