Montana youth-serving organizations invited to apply for a visit from a team focused on learning STEM through power tools

BOZEMAN - Montana State University's Science Math Resource Center and the Montana Girls STEM Collaborative are offering a chance for a Montana school, youth organization or community to win a spring 2027 visit from a team that aims to help youth get experience with science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, by learning to use power tools.

The Princesses with Powertools program, from Reinvented Magazine, helps youth learn to use power tools, identify STEM role models and engage in STEM. The program is delivered by individuals dressed as princesses. It is adaptable to any age group or event.

To enter the contest, applicants will explain how a visit from Princesses with Powertools could benefit their school or community and will submit a group project that fits one of three options: an art project, power tool project pitch video or a STEM role models poster created by youth.

The entry deadline is Nov. 10, and the Science Math Resource Center will announce the winning team on Dec. 10. Youth groups and classrooms can get started on their entries immediately.
