Meet Annika Miyashiro-Ruiz, Senior Project Manager - Business Development

The City of Bellflower is proud to spotlight Annika Miyashiro-Ruiz, Senior Project Manager - Business Development, whose long-standing dedication continues to support local businesses and strengthen the community. Her work reflects the City's continued commitment to investing in a high-performing team and supporting long-term economic growth.

Annika has been a part of the Bellflower team since 2006, building a career rooted in creativity and public service. Today, she serves as Senior Project Manager - Business Development in the City's Economic Development Department, where she works to enhance the local business community.

Annika earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University, Long Beach in 2002 and gained valuable skills at a variety of employers before joining Bellflower in 2006 as a Public Affairs Assistant. With her 25+ years of small business experience and strong understanding of both City operations and community needs, she moved from the Public Affairs Division over to the Economic Development Department .

In her current position, she focuses on business attraction and retention, manages economic development projects/programs such as loans, grants, and public art installations, and works directly with local owners and operators to address their business concerns. Her work helps attract investment to support the city's businesses and improve quality of life for residents.

Outside of City Hall, Annika spends time with her family and enjoys staying active at the gym.
