Cornwall Resident Sentenced for Aggravated Domestic Assault
MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Attorney General's Office announced that Kevin Tower, 29, of Cornwall, Vermont, was sentenced today in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division, on six felony counts of First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, one misdemeanor count of Domestic Assault, and one misdemeanor count of Violation of Conditions of Release.
The Court, Judge Alison Arms presiding, sentenced Mr. Tower to two to five years in prison, all suspended but ten months, with probation until further order of the court. Mr. Tower's probation conditions include that he cannot use any controlled substance without a valid prescription, must submit to random urinalyses, must comply with electronic monitoring, must attend substance abuse treatment, must complete a domestic violence accountability education program, and must have no contact with the victim of his crime. Mr. Tower is also unable to possess, purchase or use any firearms or other deadly weapons.
If Mr. Tower violates his terms of probation, he faces up to five years in jail.
