Volunteering day at local foodbank

A team of Seras volunteers recently spent another rewarding volunteering day at a local foodbank, supporting South Liverpool Foodbank in Hunts Cross, and marking our second volunteering day with the charity this year.

The visit provided colleagues with another opportunity to support the vital work carried out by the foodbank, which helps individuals and families across the local community who are facing difficult circumstances and need support.

Throughout the day, the team assisted with a range of essential tasks, including sorting and date-checking food donations to ensure items were organised and ready for distribution. Volunteers also helped unload a significant delivery of donated food collected by a local school, demonstrating the power of community support and the collective efforts of local organisations, schools and volunteers working together.

While the tasks were practical in nature, the impact was clear to see. Every item sorted, checked and stored helps the foodbank operate more efficiently and ensures donations can reach those who need them as quickly as possible.

The volunteering day at the local foodbank was not only a valuable contribution to the foodbank's operations but also a rewarding experience for the colleagues involved. Team members enjoyed spending time together outside of their usual roles, working towards a shared goal and seeing first-hand the difference community support can make.

Many reflected on the positive atmosphere at the foodbank and the dedication of the volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support local people. The experience served as a reminder of the important role community organisations play and the impact that even a few hours of volunteering can have.

The day also contributed towards Seras' growing volunteering programme, helping to boost the number of employee volunteering hours completed across the business in 2026. By encouraging colleagues to take part in initiatives such as these, Seras continues to support causes that matter to our people and the communities we serve.

We would like to thank the team at South Liverpool Foodbank for welcoming us once again and for the important work they carry out every day. We look forward to continuing our support and creating more opportunities for colleagues to make a positive difference in their local communities.
