APG FCU’s CEO Named to BBJ “Faces to Watch” 2026 List

Becky Smith, President and CEO of APGFCU, was one of just 10 local business leaders named to the Baltimore Business Journal's (BBJ)"Faces to Watch" 2026 list.

As noted in the BBJ article, in her first full year as CEO, Smith brings years of relevant experience and a people-first leadership style to her role at APGFCU. Formerly an executive at SECU, she has put together a leadership team that shares her focus on workplace culture and a goal of strengthening the organization from the inside out. She has also introduced proven practices from her prior experience, including a hybrid work model that supports both flexibility and collaboration.

Under Smith's leadership, APGFCU expanded its membership in September by acquiring the assets of Members First of Maryland FCU, adding two branch locations.

Smith has also made improving the member experience a priority, with a strong focus on digital services. By responding to member feedback and investing in updates, she is working to ensure the credit union meets members' needs as more people adopt digital technology.

As Smith shared with the BBJ, "We know many consumers want to bank digitally, so we are doubling our investment in digital next year and meeting members where they are."
