City Invites Input on City’s Legislative Priorities

The City of Frederick's Office of the Mayor announced its annual survey on the City's legislative priorities, offering a public input process so residents can shape advocacy in Annapolis. The public input will be used to finalize an agenda in advance of the upcoming Maryland General Assembly Session.

The Mayor began this initiative in 2023, with the survey serving as the first formal input process on state-facing requests that the City has offered in recent memory. This year's survey also seeks resident feedback on federal activity that may have local impacts.

"Community engagement is at the heart of everything we do in City Government, and that remains true when we're advocating for our residents in Annapolis and beyond," said Mayor Michael O'Connor. "We'll continue to find ways for residents to make their voices heard, and work towards our shared goals for the City we call home."

You are invited to fill out our online survey, which is available until Sept. 17, 2025. Your input will help us better understand your priorities and concerns. To access the survey, please visit: https://communityfeedback.opengov.com/portals/frederickmd/Issue_14598

The Maryland General Assembly Session begins on January 14th, 2026, and will run until April 13th, 2026. Maryland municipalities and other organizations seeking funding for local priorities generally participate in the Session to incorporate funding requests into the State of Maryland's annual budget, or advocate for policy changes that benefit their communities.
