On April 17, 2026, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg attended the Appreciation Dinner hosted by SunnyHeimer Choir at the University of the Witwatersrand. Around 100 people were present, including Mr. Tshegofatso Mogaladi, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, staff representatives, and choir members.
In his speech, Mr. Pan reviewed the existing friendly cooperation and interactions between the Chinese Consulate General and the SunnyHeimer Choir. Saying that music has no national boundaries and culture builds a bridge of hearts, he encouraged the choir to seize the opportunity of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, deliver the power of harmony with their voice, and contribute more to enhancing youth exchanges and friendship between China and South Africa.
Mr. Tshegofatso Mogaladi and representatives of the choir expressed gratitude for the continued support from the Chinese Consulate General and their willingness to further strengthen engagement and promote South Africa-China friendship.
