Colorado Democrats Thank Dwayne Romero for His Campaign in the 3rd Congressional District

DENVER - Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib released the following statement on the outcome of the election in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District:

"Dwayne Romero gave Western and Southern Colorado a campaign grounded in service and a serious understanding of the communities he sought to represent. He spoke about protecting our water and making sure working families can afford to remain in the places they call home. He brought the experience of a combat veteran, a business owner and someone who knows how hard it can be to make ends meet. Dwayne is a patriotic Coloradan and we're grateful for his candidacy.

"While we're disappointed in today's result, we're proud of the campaign Romero ran and welcomed his participation in our coordinated campaign that touched parts of Colorado that Democrats historically ignored. We thank him, his family and everyone who gave their time to this effort. The concerns people shared with this campaign still need answers. Colorado Democrats will keep working in these communities and pressing their representatives to deliver."

Colorado Democrats ran a coordinated campaign alongside Romero, knocked on tens of thousands of doors, directed a voter protection operation, delivered a paid media operation and criss-crossed the district mobilizing voters as part of CDP's "Our Future. Our Colorado." bus tour. We successfully aligned the national Party around these efforts and developed infrastructure that remains ready to elect decent public servants across the ballot. We look forward to continuing to build in Western and Southern Colorado.
