Attendees played basketball, heard from First Lady Braun, read books from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and enjoyed health-focused musical entertainment from Rapping About Prevention.
"Healthy Hoops shows us the power of combining fun, fitness, and learning to help our children thrive. I am grateful to AmeriHealth Caritas for inviting me to be a part of such a special event today," said Braun. "As a mother and grandmother, I know how important it is to encourage young Hoosiers to build strong, healthy habits."

AmeriHealth Caritas also hosted a Healthy Hoops event with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne for kids in northeast Indiana earlier this year. It has worked with other Boys & Girls Clubs, and similar organizations serving children, throughout the country to bring the program to more than 60,000 children and their families since 2002.
"We are honored to be part of this special event alongside the First Lady and AmeriHealth Caritas," said Eric Richards, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Boone County. "This partnership is about investing in the future of Boone County's kids and we couldn't be more excited about this incredible opportunity."
