New Mexico Expands Home Energy Rebates Program to Provide Advanced Payments to Contractors

The New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) has announced a partnership with the National Energy Improvement Fund's (NEIF) RebateBridgeTM program to advance Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) rebate funds to contractors. The RebateBridgeTM funding will accelerate rebate payouts for completed projects, enabling smaller contractors previously unable to carry pre-rebate project costs to participate, expanding and enhancing the network of qualified contractors available to serve customers across the state.

"EMNRD's partnership with NEIF has allowed us to greatly speed and increase the number of home rebates we can make available to homeowners and renters - while also supporting local New Mexican contractors and small businesses," said Rebecca "Puck" Stair, EMNRD Director.

State Energy Offices interested in learning more about the RebateBridgeTM program can find more information on NEIF's website. For more details on New Mexico's HEAR program, including guidelines for household and project eligibility, visit the New Mexico Clean Energy website.
