As mentioned in our Summary of Budget Announcements (MarineTalk 27 November) last month's Budget confirmed the Government's intention to allow English Mayoral Authorities and potentially other English strategic authorities to introduce tourism taxes on commercially let overnight accommodation.
Although partly modelled on Welsh & Scottish policies, the UK Government appears to have taken onboard the strong arguments made by British Marine to the devolved nations.
