Chinese Ambassador to Malta Zhang Zuo Meets with Renowned Maltese Presenter Antonella Vassallo

On June 15, 2026, H.E. Zhang Zuo, Chinese Ambassador to Malta, met with Ms. Antonella Vassallo from TVM.

Ambassador Zhang stated that media cooperation is an important component of China-Malta relations. Strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the media of the two countries will help the Maltese public see a real, multidimensional and complete China. He expressed the expectation that Ms. Vassallo will play an active role in encouraging Maltese media, including the TVM, to tell the stories of China-Malta friendship well, to report more on Chinese modernization in formats welcomed by the Maltese people, and to foster a favorable atmosphere for bilateral friendship and practical cooperation.

Ms. Vassallo shared her experiences of visiting China to produce television programs. She noted that China boasts a profound history and culture and has emerged as a major country in the world, adding that a growing number of Maltese people wish to know more about China. She expressed her readiness to enhance communication with the Chinese side, jointly explore ways to promote Malta-China exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, and other fields.
