Some of the best moments in a month happen when people come together. October gave our EVB team plenty of opportunities to do just that, from volunteering and connecting with students to celebrating a new branch and enjoying time with coworkers. Here's a look at the month across EVB.
October 1: Our Yankton team volunteered with Yankton Food for Thought, supporting its mission to provide food and nutritional education to help school-age children and their families succeed.
October 3: EVB volunteers packaged 4,536 meals at Pack Away Hunger with Mercy Meals of Nebraska, helping provide food for people in need around the world.
October 3: Our Social Committee organized a day at Poppy's Pumpkin Patch for employees and their families to enjoy fall activities and time together outside work.
October 3: EVB sponsored Color Your Recovery in support of Liberty Centre Services, Inc. Our team joined the fun by running the course and tossing color along the route.
October 5-14: Our team trained this year's student tellers for the Panther Branch In School Savings Program, helping them prepare to assist classmates on bank days.
October 5-9: During National Teller Appreciation Week and National Customer Service Week, we recognized our tellers and customer service employees for their patience, care, and commitment to helping customers each day.
October 7: EVB hosted a blood drive at our 25th Street location in Norfolk. Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate.
October 15: We celebrated the grand opening of our North Broadway branch in Yankton with customers, neighbors, and a ribbon-cutting with Yankton Thrive. Our second Yankton location marks another step in our commitment to serving the community.
October 16: Our team cooked and served meals before the Pierce vs. Wayne football game. Attendees donated $449 to each school's booster club, and EVB added $250 per school, bringing each club's total to $699.
October 20-30: In partnership with Norfolk Public Schools, our team helped launch this year's Panther Branch In School Savings Program across all seven Norfolk public elementary schools, helping students build consistent saving habits.
October 21: Jeaney Harris, Vice President of Mortgage Lending, visited a Wayne State College real estate class to discuss the homebuying process, mortgage programs, and financing options.
October 23: Our team attended the Wayne Baseball Association's Comedy Show fundraiser and enjoyed an evening with the community in support of local youth baseball.
October 29: Our Social Committee hosted an employee pumpkin decorating contest, giving coworkers a chance to share their creativity and enjoy some friendly competition.
Staff Updates: We welcomed three new tellers: Megan DeLay at North Broadway in Yankton, Jenny Peterson at Benjamin Avenue in Norfolk, and Natalie Jacobson at Hy-Vee West in Norfolk. We also celebrated Evan Bock's promotion to Branch Operations Manager, Lending at Downtown Riverfront in Yankton.
From supporting our communities to celebrating milestones, October showed how much we can accomplish together. Thank you to our employees, customers, and community partners for bringing EVB's mission of making a difference to life.
