From sampling and grading to drying, storage and shipping, the choices made every day at a facility directly affect grain value, risk, and profitability. Introduction to Grain Quality Management, a newly released online learning course from Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), helps learners understand those connections and make informed decisions that support operational success.
Designed specifically for new and emerging supervisors responsible for maintaining grain quality in storage facilities, Introduction to Grain Quality Management focuses on the "why" behind grain quality management. The self-paced e-learning experience helps unpack the best practices used throughout the grain handling process.
Throughout the course, learners examine key grain quality management activities and documentation, including binning, conveyance, drying, grading, maintenance, pest control and fumigation, sampling, shipping, storage, and weighing. By the end of the course, participants will be able to assess grain and environmental conditions, identify risks, apply best practices, and determine appropriate actions to preserve grain quality and increase value.
The course is available on-demand through GEAPS' Online Learning. Learners have 12 weeks after registration to complete with an estimated completion time of five hours. Introduction to Grain Quality Management is part of GEAPS' ongoing commitment to providing practical, accessible education that strengthens workforce development and operational excellence across the grain and grain processing industries.
This course is also part of the Credential in Grain Operations Management (CGOM) GEAPS Credential curriculum. To learn more about GEAPS Credentialling, visit https://www.geaps.com/credentials.
