SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 - Statement from Amy Barela, Chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico While the Democrat party, in their latest social media post, may wish to continue sowing division, RPNM calls on all New Mexicans to choose a better path. Let us engage in honest, fact-driven discussion, conversations modeled not on hostility but on the kind of thoughtful debate that builds stronger communities. If we do this, I believe we can create a brighter future for New Mexico. The Chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico had this to say, "I want to reaffirm our unwavering support for every New Mexican's First Amendment rights. At the same time, we must recognize that political theater is being used to antagonize rather than to build solutions. There is an important difference between healthy debate and personal attack. Leaders must acknowledge this distinction if we are to reduce the harmful rhetoric that divides us." The Republican Party of New Mexico does not support nor condone verbal abuse, violence, intimidation, or hate in any form. As we continue to honor the life of Charlie Kirk and the Constitution, RPNM encourages an open exchange of facts and ideas, because facts, not insults, are what will determine the direction of our state and the future of its people. Now is the time to stop the finger-pointing and instead sit down together to address what New Mexicans truly need: stronger healthcare, better education, more affordable housing, safer communities, less crime, fewer burdensome regulations and mandates, and policies that offer a hand up, not a handout. ### The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairwoman Amy Barela, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
