City of St. Petersburg Launches Swimsuit Drive to Support Local Youth

July 6, 2026 - The St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department is asking the community to help local youth by donating to the Suit Up for Summer Swimsuit Drive from now until Wednesday, July 15. The community-wide effort aims to collect new swimsuits and towels for children and teens who may not otherwise have access to appropriate swimwear for camps, swim lessons, or recreational pool activities.

Community members are encouraged to donate new towels and swimsuits of all sizes (children and teens) at participating City recreation centers and pools. All donations will be distributed to families in need of financial assistance, helping to ensure that every child can enjoy pool time this season.

"We are excited to once again host a swimsuit drive enabling children and teens in the community to participate in aquatic, summertime fun," said Mike Jefferis, Community Enrichment Administrator.
