National Assembly Delegation Takes Part in Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Peru

The 11th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians was held from 11 to 13 September 2025 in Lima, Peru, organised by the Congress of the Republic of Peru and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The conference was opened by the President of the Congress of the Republic, José Jerí Oré, while the welcoming speech was delivered by the President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Boluarte.

The conference was attended by a National Assembly delegation consisting of: Ivana Stamatovic, Dijana Radovic, Milica Nikolic and Aleksandar Djukic.

This year's conference brought together young parliamentarians from all over the world, who during their work discussed progress in implementing the global agenda for gender equality, the latest trends and key priorities in this area, as well as the importance of intergenerational alliances.

Special emphasis was placed on the role of stakeholders across the parliamentary ecosystem in achieving gender equality, and this session was chaired by MP Ivana Stamatovic, member of the IPU Bureau of Young Parliamentarians.

In addition to these discussions, participants worked in team workshops dedicated to achieving gender equality, and part of the programme was the so-called discoursing, in which they themselves proposed and selected topics for discussion. The workshop topic selected was proposed by the Serbian delegation.
